The Ernst & Young Centre is a 55-storey ‘A’ Grade commercial office tower, which offers premium grade building services over 62,440 m2 of net lettable area. It is set above extensive basement storage and parking for 400 cars, as well as the World Square shopping centre. The centre focuses on a large central piazza ringed with cafes and retail space. The building embodies the principle of a vertical village and a unique glazed external stair forms an active circulation spine for the full height of the building. Capped by an elegant spire it is just one of the architectural statements that positions the building as a landmark for those entering and leaving the city along George Street. Etched horizontal expression on the vertical form of the tower contrasts with the vertical elements that slice through the five-level podium of its neighbour, 52 Goulburn Street, to form another standout design feature. A base curtain wall system unifies the design and harmonises the key elements of both buildings.
