It’s official. Sparks+Partners is open for MORE business in Parramatta!

It’s official. We are (always) open for business—the Hon. Dr Geoff Lee, Member for Parramatta, officialised the ribbon cutting of Sparks+Partners’ new premises on Friday, 30 September 2022. The ceremony was part of a Welcome Lunch for neighbours and friends held onsite at the office. Plus, the perfect way to test our new BBQ.

We physically relocated offices on 15 July. However, as with any move, it has taken a few weeks to properly settle into the place.

After three decades at our George Street office, a global pandemic, and a team tipping 40 people – it was time to expand. It was also a chance for a fresh start. When the journey began, suitable commercial property in Parramatta was at a premium. The Directors at Sparks+Partners debated taking the company to a different area. We could have landed in Burwood, Homebush or Bella Vista. Instead, Sparks+Partners made a point to stay in Parramatta.

Substantial growth is imminent for the Western centres of Sydney, and Parramatta will be an integral economic hub supporting the development of these communities and areas. Despite everything the pandemic has inflicted on Greater Western Sydney, Parramatta is thriving. Economically, key indicators show healthy growth potential across the population, GDP, development and housing.

The current estimated Gross Regional Product for the City of Parramatta is $31.36 billion, representing 5 per cent of NSW’s Gross State Product. Forecasts predict the population of Parramatta City to increase approximately three per cent per year. The City’s population forecast for 2022 is 287,289 and is estimated to swell to 487,731 by 20411.

Over the next five years, Parramatta will see $20 billion in infrastructure and development investment distributed across the City’s precincts. Major projects like the Metro West, Light Rail, Parramatta Square, Powerhouse Precinct & Museum, and Westmead Health will create opportunities for new businesses, workers, residents, investors, students and visitors.

Western Sydney International (WSI) (Nancy-Bird Walton) airport construction is underway and flying towards a 2026 opening. The airport is a transformational infrastructure project that will generate further economic activity, provide employment close to home for the people of West, and meet Sydney’s growing aviation needs.

Safeguarding WSI is a buffer zone to enable curfew-free operation for 24/7 connectivity and to alleviate pressure on Sydney (Kingsford Smith) Airport, which lies within less than a one-kilometre radius of urban built-up areas. WSI plans to absorb much of the 45 per cent of freight imports and exports in Australia currently processed by Sydney Airport2 restricted between 6 am and 11 pm. Explicitly designed, WSI offers dedicated access for transport close to highways and logistics centres to get cargo effortlessly from the aerotropolis to the nation.

For Sparks+Partners, “this level of development brings projects, people and productivity to our business. It will especially mean a clear increase in industrial sector work, which is vital to our ongoing success,” said Director Leon Dimino.

Adding up the undeniably exciting prospects for Parramatta, it was an easy choice to keep searching in Sydney’s second CBD. Finding and renovating our new west-end HQ on Hunter Street was worth the wait. We look forward to welcoming you in the future.
